Good info on hardware, but the wiring, electronics and tuning concepts are barely covered. More of an overview than an in depth manual.

Great intro to LS swaps. I have found more current information online but this is a great intro for folks who are old school small block engine users and want to learn more about why these engines are taking over the hot rod community.

I have only breezed thru it so far. I bought it for a reference for when I build my 6.0 LQ4.

Pretty good book. I like it. It gave me ideas and direction with my project Camaro.

Look into something more vehicle specific. Doing a swap for a 68 A Body and this presented nothing useful or new.

This book is fascinating and worth reading. I have been writing using the Vimala letters now for over a year, and it has been a beneficial and enjoyable experience. Robin Tanguay is a trained teacher in this approach to forming letters and good friend of Vimala Rodgers. She has reformed her own life applying the writing discipline and the discipline of AA and in this book shows how the two can be powerfully connected to help someone on his or her journey in recovery from destructive behavior. Even if one does not have any serious addictions, this book can be most beneficial in everyday life as we all would like to be more positive and helpful to ourselves and others. I recommend that you buy Vimala Rodgers book and this book if you are at all interested in trying this unique approach to making your life better. It is serious but enjoyable at the same time.

Although Trachtenberg's collection has been around for awhile (since 1980), it provides a very nice selection of primary source materials on the history of photography. If you want to know what people were actually thinking and saying about photography during its first 140 years or so, you can find it here. In addition, Trachtenberg's introductions to the selections are quite good--not showy or promoting some particular intellectual hobby horse, but solid and factual and useful to students--I've been studying the topic for years and have found very few factual errors or questionable judgments in his material. The main limitation is that the book stops in the 1970s, so, for my course in history of photography I have to provide additional materials for the recent developments, such as digital photography and the relations between photography and computing and the internet. The only other common item somewhat like this is Goldberg's "Photography in Print," which costs twice as much and, although it is more complete, is not twice as good, at least for the purposes of students in a first course in history of photography. My students can pick up a copy of Trachtenberg for a few dollars used, not much more new, and they've responded well to the selection of readings. Some minor downsides: there is no index, and the individual readings don't give the date of publication (though this is generally available in the "Sources" section at the end of the book). In short, within its limitations, this is an excellent source book, and a bargain in an age of obscene textbook pricing.

The essays helped me gain a historical perspective on photography. I wanted to have a relatively objective perspective on lessons learned as photography matured. It makes me feel comfortable to know in photography that's what's old is new. Even though we have improved technology, e.g., photoshop, we face the same challenge, how much freedom do we have to shape and present the world the camera captures. Each of the authors faced the same challenge and has presented their position articulately!

Bought this as a gift, my dad loved it.

A GREAT resource of photography essays perfect for a photography professor or teacher!

All photographers should read this book once. Starts with Daguerre. Mostly crit and theory by the artists themselves. Very good selection, enjoyable reading, goes fast. Should be required reading in every art school that teaches photography. Not for advanced theorists-it's an introduction to photo theory and crit-but it's a good one!

This book does an excellent job of explaining the difference between the "real" spiritual battle and the "secularized" version. In the "real" battle, the Kingdom of God (who desires us to be part of the Bride of Christ) and the Kingdom of Satan (who wants to reign in our hearts through sin) are at odds with each other, while the secularized version would have us believe that it is all a battle within ourselves...our struggle with the evil within us with NO help from God's grace. The book also focuses heavily on scripture passages, and on the idea that we are to worship the Creator and NOT creatures. I actually think that the title is a little limiting, since the "attack against the woman" is is only a small part of the main idea. The book actually has excellent advise for personal spiritual battle. I highly recommend the book especially to priests, deacons and other religious.

This book is excellent for showing the truth as to how Satan uses the weaknesses of humans to tempt them to fulfill their every desire.It does NOT bash women as the other posts stated. This book is well thought out and affirms what many of us believe but could not express as well as this author has done.

This book is very frank and truthful about women and the tricks and tools used by the Devil and his minions to use women and destroy us as well by drawing us away from God. The emancipated woman has been used by the Devil as a weapon to turn us away from God. I disagree that it suggests women belong in the kitchen "barefoot and pregnant" on the contrary! How free are we if we follow the "Father of Lies" and allow our eternal life to not be realized?

Originally we rented this book in our local library. My toddler was instantly in love. 2 of her favorite things together in the same story Ice cream and cats. The story is short enough to keep your 2 or 3 years old attention. We had read this many times. The pictures are so details according with the story. We read this book over 30 times on the same week. And O can wait for our copy to arrive from amazon so we can read this 100 times more...

We are big Splat the Cat fans and have many of the books. I tend to like those authored by Rob Scotton more than the "I Can Read" books authored by the publisher, but this one is not a favorite. There are words used in this book that I change, like calling someone a "loser" when other words could easily have been substituted (last one to the other side of the pool is a "loser" could easily have been "rotten egg" or something of that ilk). Not sure why an author of children's books or an editor of children's books would use words like that. Its unecessary for the story.

My son's classroom was having a book exchange for Christmas so I thought this was a great choice. Good read for a Kindergarten child. My son loves the Splat the Cat books. This one is funny as the others. Splat the cat is a charming character.

GREAT little book. Another success. Was also received in perfect condition. So much fun reading this book with my granddaughter. Priceless! Win, Win, Win; situation.

Having seen Splat the Cats popularity here on Amazon, this was the first book of his we bought. I think it is just terrible. The story and the wording doesn't "flow" from one part of Splat's day to the next. Maybe it is supposed to be this way, but the sentences leave you tongue tied and tripping over the words constantly. Personally, I find that rather annoying... especially since the author doesn't use rhyming in the traditional way. Still giving it two stars as it is a book my son likes me to read to him.... since he is two, I find myself making up my own story for splat as we go along instead of reading the actual story.

Splat the Cat is great. We have many of the Splat the Cat books. My son really enjoys reading these with me. The story is fun and I really like how they have the word section at the beginning. I think these have helped to improve his reading skills.

Have ordered all the SPLAT THE CAT books for my grandson, who's 4. Also ordered the stuffed cat and mouse "friend." Good little books and excellent for beginning readers.

Love these books. Splat is a big hit with my three year old. The “I can read” versions are especially fun for early literacy.

I've been waiting for this book since last summer, and I can't believe it's finally here. The Samurai Pizza Cats Official Fanbook!The first thing I noticed was the book's size. It's a bit larger than I thought it was, which is great. A good size for showcasing all of the artwork inside. Speaking of which, the art is amazing. All bright, colorful, and quirky. Just as one would expect from a weird show like this. There's also character profiles and notes about their designs, and not just main characters. Some of the minor ones are in there too, which is nice. Also included are episode recaps and interviews with the cast and crew.Just something to note: This is a translation of the Kyatto Ninden Teyandee Fanbook. As such, it only covers the Japanese original series, not the Saban version. So, if you were expecting this book to detail the production of the latter, you may be disappointed. Seeing "Yattarou", "Sukashii", and "Pururun" instead of "Speedy", Guido", and "Polly" might throw some fans off too. That said, I don't think it should deter anyone from picking it up. It's an awesome art/fanbook, and I highly recommend it to any Pizza Cats fan.

Renee covers the typical info, but has the updates on freshwater pearls. The freshwater industry has ballooned and little information is available in concise form. What I also like is the inclusion on the recent fashion and technology involved - such as pearl carving and testing methods to determine treatments.

This was well done but a little on the simple side for me. As a former jeweler I was looking for some in-depth information about some of the newer stones, such as color change Garnets, etc.The information appeared to be all 100% correct however it was not presented in much depth. Good if you're just getting started collecting gems, etc. Not so good if you have a lot of knowledge to begin with.I would rate this 3.75 to 4.0 stars out of 5. Recommended for anyone wanting more information and is just starting down the pathway of gem collecting, etc.

As one of three books purchased on this subject, I have to say the images are what makes this book. But the information within is great too, albeit somewhat limited on certain stones. With my geology background, I really enjoyed seeing the categories of gemstones classified in terms of: chemical composition, Moh's hardness scale rating, cleavage, crystal structure and more. The care tips are also useful particularly if you make jewelry and want your customers to be aware of how to properly care for their gemstones (or for you when cleaning your own gemstones!). Some gemstones have many varieties and this is covered quite well (e.g. Garnet - eight species and their names, varieties within species, color(s), and other mineralogical data that is useful to those who really want to understand the detailed identification of the mineral/gemstone. The accompanying photos often cover all the species listed - so a great visual aid. Keep in mind the images are of finished, mostly faceted gemstones. I want to also mention another great image/layout and it is about Jadeite colors as seen on 36 cabachons. I wanted to know about this for some time and now by using this guide, I can get a general sense as to how to determine quality and value of this particular stone.I would recommend this book for beginner gemstone enthusiasts, but recommend other books, publications, and even talking with a true gemologist to help you understand specific topics in detail. I will refer to this book probably first when seeking an answer on most gemstone questions but will utilize other information when I need an in-depth knowledge review prior to purchase and analysis.

I found this book fascinating! It is easy to read, easy to learn from, and yet not a text book. You do not have to be a student to become captivated by the beautiful photography and interesting bits of history mixed with scientific data and just a bit of folklore.At times I was frustrated by the elusiveness about what a particular gem would be worth. The author reminds us selling and trading of gems might well be, if not the second oldest profession, one of the early ones.I recommend this book to anybody. If you pick it up because of the bright colorful images, you will be caught by the flowing enthusiasm of the author. Many a night, my forehead hit the pages as I realized my reading had kept me up way too late.

This book was wonderfully in-depth, with excellent illustrations. It was obvious that a lot of research went into providing information that is not easily available many places. I'll be reading her other books as well.

These short stories of disappearances, crimes and mysteries are perfect for bedtime reading. They are incredibly weird and thought provoking. I wished this book was longer. I hope this writer would publish more books like this one. The only thing that this book might need is a good spell check and few grammar errors corrected. A fun read!

The cases were interesting, but whoever edited this book did a really poor job. There are grammar errors, date errors, words missing, etc..The book would have been better had it been more professionally done.

Great book! I wish I had read it 20+ years ago when I first heard of it. Now that I've read it, I understand more about why we are seeing the budget battles going on in D.C., wars in the Middle East, and other international events.I see more clearly why many in our political sphere are working so hard to run up our national debt: to cause our nation's financial collapse, weaken our military, and eventually overthrow our country.Furthermore, the book provides perspective on the relationship between (1) the driving force behind the anti-God, anti-America types who seek to disarm America and get us under the control of the U.N., and (2) the rise of the Antichrist. Any Christian seeking to understand how End-Time prophecies are being fulfilled in our day would benefit from reading this book.

Amazing book-written so long ago but so accurate. Pat is truly prophetic.

Not an easy read. I'll have to read it again. Highly detailed book, but the premise and information is worth considering. This information will open your eyes beyond the typical political understandings. Robertson gets into the money sources that may be seeking world political control and domination. He traces the threads into the 1800s and brings them up to the time the book was written. I used to think there were only liberals and conservatives. Now I see there could be more to politics. So much to learn.

Amazing that it was published in 1991 and so pertinent to what is happening today. Anyone reading this book will vote for Trump because he or she will see that everyone else is connected to the NWO through Goldman Sachs and other Wall Street entities.

Even Amazon's review is no more than two sentences long. Talk about damning with faint praise. Here's why I would not recommend this book.First, it's Robertson's constant repetition of analogies about the use of the words, new world order. (I get it already. Move on!) You get the feeling that he is regarding his readers as simpletons.Second, he explains things in such nauseating detail, which educated Americans over the age of ten would not need explained. (I get it already. Move on!) You get the feeling that he is regarding his readers as simpletons.Third, he talks about this mysterious group, the Illuminati. This is a supposedly secret organization that every superstitious Christian knows about, but which no one has found a single, live Illuminum to bring out of the overthrow closet. I get the feeling that I am regarding him as a simpleton.At the risk of sounding effete or pedantic, this book is suited more toward a fourth or fifth grade reading level. It's repetition, simplemindedness, and whackadoodle philosophy will give you the thousand yard stare.I sure am sorry I bought this. (I feel like such a simpleton.) The only thing this book might be good for is sleep apnia. Use with a strong toss of rye. Otherwise don't go near this book unless you have a cross and a charm of garlic. (Oh, the irony!)You'll find more excitement in a bottle of Geritol and a lost episode of The Lawrence Welk Show.This is the new world bore.

Topol makes some interesting points, and I strongly agree with his central argument that patients should be the owners of their own medical data. However, Topol starts his book with a heavy handed straw man argument with his portrayal of modern medicine being shameless paternalistic - this rings false to me and distracts from his main point. Topol seems to very much dislike and distrust doctors despite the fact that he is one himself. He also applies several rare genetic medical conditions to demonstrate his rational for patients making their own medical decisions without the aid of the medical profession - his point would have been much stronger had he used examples of more common medical scenarios. Overall I learned some interesting facts about technologic advancements in medicine and genetics. This was an informative read, but the tone and clear anti doctor bias was somewhat distracting.

This is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand how quickly and dramatically health care is changing. Some would describe Eric Topol as a "futurist", but that suggests he's talking about things 10+ years away. I think of him as a "near-futurist" with a unique ability to synthesize the scientific and cultural trends emerging in different parts of the health care system, to help us see how it's about to come together.As a physician, I find this scary and exciting. As a patient, family caregiver, and advocate, I'm thrilled. The Patient Will See You Now takes us on a wonderfully written tour including: the end of paternalism in health care (hooray!), tools that patients and families now have to be partners in their care, and an approachable overview to how genomics is finally bringing us personalized medicine. That last piece is even more important to understand given Obama's recent proposal to sequence 1 million genomes.Whether you think all of these changes are good or not, Topol's work here is a huge amount of easy-to-understand education, impeccably researched, and a pleasure to read.

Topol's earlier book - The Creative Destruction of Medicine: How the Digital Revolution Will Create Better Health Care discussed quantified-self, and aspects of the app-centric health data logging and analyses and concluded that mHealth will form the basis of healthcare disruption. In this book, Topol provides a very interesting thought framework to deduce "what's next?"The first section expands his assertion that paternalistic healthcare systems (personified by FDA, AMA, and traditionalists) is really behind the times and the notion "nothing about me without me" is increasingly becoming not only feasible but also demanded by the patients. Providing a detour explaining the evolution of interpretations of the Hippocrates oath, Topol uses that opportunity to take issue (yet again) with the AMA and the entire practice around guidelines. While arguing for increased access for patient-related information to the patients, Topol clearly acknowledges the difference in information and knowledge gaps and points out that mere access is not sufficient, but it is a critical step in rethinking patient engagement and direct participation. To further expand on these themes, Topol borrows Eisentien's characterization of printing press as a change agent and draws significant parallels with that transformation and smartphones, calling this the "Gutenberg moment". While a healthy skepticism is warranted in the claims of everything from holy wars to Renaissance to modern science and founding of american republic is attributed directly to the printing press, one cannot easily dismiss the "combinatorial intellectual activity" printing facilitated. Topol argues (successfully) further that the technology already exists to enable this remarkable period of creativity in healthcare. Using relatively recent episodes such as FDA v/s 23andme and Angelina Jolie's aggressive preventive measures, Topol provides a very informative and engaging view of how the healthcare system is clearly at an inflection point.In the second section, Topol focuses primarily on the key enabling technologies that will make his vision of a democratized and personalized healthcare a reality. Moving beyond traditional logging devices, Topol paints a realistic vision of the technologies and the opportunities they are already creating such as from lab-on-a-chip to lab-in-body. Along the way, his insights on the failures of EMR systems (using OpenNotes as a contrast), potential of "pre-womb to tomb" predictive/diagnostic models is well worth the read. In fact, the chapter on the various -omics and their potential role (adapted from his famous paper in Cell) and examples on pre-diabetic and airway diseases in itself is worthy of investing in this book. A reader will also gain significant insights about some trailblazing companies like Theranos, QuantuMDx, etc. The discussion around how 3 of the 5 imaging technologies have already been miniaturized to hand-held devices is a clear indication of the realism embedded in Topol's assertions.In the third section, Topol objectively analyses the import of these changes (cultural and technological) on how healthcare will be delivered and consumed. These discussions go beyond "disintermediation of doctors" and is a must-read for anyone interested in developing new service models. A few years ago, The Innovator's Prescription: A Disruptive Solution for Health Care, provided a radically new way to rethink service models - Topol's book does the same from the viewpoint of patient and the role of technology.At times, Topol perhaps extends the patient advocacy too aggressively. For example, on a discussion crucifying Myriad and value of patents, he seem to dismiss the risk taken by private enterprises to generate these insights. While he fully acknowledges that information and knowledge gaps are critical, he uses a few hand-picked examples of how highly motivated individuals were able to be remarkably active with the diagnosis and treatment of their conditions (it is hard to say how generalizable these episodes are). Criticisms on AMA may also not be entirely fair and while there will always be "eminence-based medicine" as Topol characterizes it, there is no doubt that some of it needs to be modulated better with patient-centric approaches.With the clarity of discussion aided by well-chosen examples and analogies bereft of needless cheer-leading, over 50 pages of notes/references, excellent diagrams accompanying some of the key concepts, Topol's book is well-poised to define the next big discussion on healthcare. With the aggressive growth of wearables and smartphones showing no signs of slowing down, wider acknowledgement of patient participation as key for healthcare outcomes, changing delivery models such as ACOs in the US, some of Topol's vision may become reality sooner than even he seem to hope for. Nevertheless, Topol has succeeded in providing a clear thought framework to assess and harness the role of mobile technology in reshaping healthcare ecosystems.

Dr Topol has a vision of the future of healthcare that is probably as good as futurist ever are. Most of the time the future is not what is imagined. That should not stop anyone from trying! He sees the demise of the general hospital as we know it and more DIY medicine with the smartphone as the hub of wonderful new sensors will give ICU monitoring at home. All this would be very good if sick people were still able to always think clearly and follow their best interests. I do think he underplays to role of greed in the health care system, but my crystal ball was cracked in an unforeseen accident. This book is well researched and written.

This book aligns well with my approach to all medical services that each of us experience with the medical system here in the United States.For years I have seen myself as a "customer", not a patient and as a customer I have the same rights and requirements from the medical establish that I have with say a repair shop and repairs to my automobile.I have been over "well, the doctor said so" fairy tail for years now and any doctor that refuses to allow "my" participation in my own health care gets fired.This book lays out much of the truth of how we got in this predicament and speaks to where this is all headed.Fine reading if you have any idea of what really drives the medical establishments in the US.
