As a Children's book Illustrator I am always asked how to break into the field. Well, you need a few things like, a bit of talent. I say this only because you don't have to be a best artist out there, just do your best at your style of art. You need tools of trade whether you paint traditionally or work digitally. You also need this fabulous book!!! I think it's a must have for every illustrator want to be illustrator of children's books. It is filled with wonderful information about techniques and styles, color palette, page layouts, story boarding and so much more. I use mine all the time. Each time I start project I pull it out. It helps and inspires me to really do my best. Every artist should have this book right next to the media you work in.Vanessa Brantley-Newton[...].

This is the best, most-up-to-date book I've read on children's book illustrations. The works of a variety of children's book illustrators are explored, and the mediums and techniques they've used are discussed in detail. This is not written in the style of a how-to book, which I like. I gained a lot of "how-to" just by analyzing the illustrations. This is great for creative inspiration and finding your medium. One of the few books on illustration that discuss digital mediums.

I wish that I had purchased this great little book sooner. If only it had the "Look Inside" feature - that is why I waited so long. I could not peek inside and see that it was chock full of Artist Profiles, (these are so informative, personal and inspirational), chock full of Creative Tips, Case Studies, Wonderful Illustrations and more! So many different styles are covered. Love this little book. It may just become my favorite of all my how-to-illustrate picture books.

When I first started reading, I was a little worried because of some similarities to other YA novels. However, I found it interesting enough to keep reading and I’m SO glad that I did. I ended up finishing this book in a day because I couldn’t put it down (or if I had to, I schemed to figure out a way to pick it back up again).Even though some of the plot elements feel similar to other novels and there are some YA tropes, this book truly manages to differentiate itself from the very beginning. Every time I thought I could guess where the plot was going next, I was wrong. The author subverted many of my expectations through the inclusion of some unexpected scenes. Training of the chosen one is usually glossed over, however Ruby’s training (and her struggles with it) is actually one of the best parts of this book. There was an excellent balance of action and quieter scenes and, while I was left with some questions, the world-building was done quite well.*One note, this book started off rather shockingly and there are some somewhat graphic scenes later on.The characterization of both the main characters and the secondary ones is wonderful. Ruby is feisty, sassy, and has a will of iron. We spent a good deal of time with Ruby as she struggled with her training, her emotions, and her past. Seeing what she went through and showing the reader her flaws made me truly care for her. She’s flawed and we can see how she grapples with some of her decisions, particularly some of the darker ones. In this book, characters do have to face the consequences of their actions, something that I personally quite like in a book.Plus that romance! It’s a hate-to-love romance and it built very naturally, the progression fitting with the both of the characters’ personalities. Arcus has demons and scars of his own and the original barriers between the two of them were quite understandable. What this book does very well is showing how the walls between them start to come down. I loved that they both had to face their own fears and prejudices (and mature quite a bit) as their relationship progressed.This book was utterly captivating, enchanting, and engrossing. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys YA high fantasy or potentially high fantasy in general (while it is YA, the characters are on the more mature side). Best book for women golfers EVER. Before I bought this I was driving the ball 70 yards at best. After reading this book, I am consistently driving the ball 160-175 yards and its going straight! If you are a beginner golfer, or have been golfing and want to improve your game, BUY THIS BOOK. You will not regret it.

I’m still a beginning golfer (2nd year I’ve played); and this book is a great help. My friends and I have consulted it while playing practice rounds, and even my husband, who has played golf for years, has learned a few new tricks! When I struggle with something in particular, I can look up the issue and get a clear explanation along with pictures. I highly recommend this book!

A Girl's On Course Survival Guide to Golf is great! The illustrations,pictures are very well explained and directions are wonderful. My golf game was so bad that I was thinking of giving up. When I purchased this book I learned that my grip, swing and stance was all wrong!! With the help of this book I started over again. It is great to take this book out on the course and actually lay in on the ground with out it getting dirty. Today,my confidence level is good and I feel so much better about my game. I really felt uncomfortable playing on ladies league,but no more. Also, I appreciate the suggestions about what club to when. I highly recommend this book to all ladies, no matter what you're ability level.

And go back and refer to things I need to know.The first book I received was missing about 10 pages, but after a quick return I got a book with all the pages.
